Tracings is a genealogy blog that hopes to capture and share information about the ancestors of Howard Eben Foster and Gladys Evelyn Branum, both born and raised in Ohio.

Having been bitten by the genealogy bug in 2008, I still consider myself a relative newbie (no pun intended) to family history research. I have a full time job and I’m a part time grad student, so my available research time comes and goes in waves.

Initially, I started this blog as a way to share things with widespread relatives that might be interested in learning more about my discoveries. The focus of my research is primarily my maternal lines, since I know considerably less about them than I do about my paternal ancestors. (It doesn’t hurt that I have an aunt on my dad’s side who has done extensive research!)

Like most people researching their family history, every answer found raises another series of questions. Hopefully, blogging will help me sort out some of these questions swirling around in my brain, so that I can make sense of the new information I find!

You can also find me occasionally blogging at Disorderly Conduct, my personal blog.
